Save the
setup program anywhere on your hard disk and execute it. A wizard will guide you through the installation.
The software runs just fine on a 2.5 GHz/512 MB notebook with an ATI Mobility
Radeon 9000 graphics adapter. Make sure your particular system has the latest drivers installed.
The version of DirectX on your computer will be checked when
Space Explorer 1.0 is started. If necessary, you will be asked to upgrade to DirectX 9.0.

The
inverted pendulum simulation
was an exercise to learn about simulating and visualizing dynamic systems in 3D and real-time using DirectX.
Swing the pendulum into the upright position and keep it there. Give it a try, it's free (as in beer)!
Upgrade to DirectX 9.0
Here is the upgrade utility for DirectX.
Just save the program anywhere you like, execute it, and follow the instructions. You will need an open internet connection.
